**The Opportunity**

The City of Melton is located on the fringe of Melbourne in the rapidly expanding western corridor. The city is experiencing one of the fastest growth rates in the state and is currently seeking to fill one permanent part time Meals on Wheels Driver and one casual position as part of the Food Services team within Community Care.

This position will deliver home and program based meals to older people and people with disabilities living within the municipality and monitor clients, reporting any significant changes in their health and wellbeing. The position reports directly to the Food Services Supervisor and will be responsible for contributing toward a strong positive culture within the Community Care team and greater Melton City Council.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Undertake the distribution of allocated Meals on Wheels delivery rounds within agreed timeframes.
- Provide a high standard of customer service that promotes and develops positive and respectful client relationships.
- Report concerns and issues regarding the health and wellbeing of clients to the appropriate Council Officer within a timely manner.
- Assist with general kitchen duties, including plating, packing of meals and cleaning as directed.
- Work with Occupational Health Safety procedures and guidelines including Food Services standard operating procedures.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and opportunities for skill development and training.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- First Aid Certificate Level 2
- Current valid Victorian drivers licence along with a comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes.
- Relevant experience and genuine commitment to working with older people, people with dementia and/or people with a disability and their carers.
- Good time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, plan and organise work activities.
- Ability to monitor and recognise areas of concern regarding the general health and wellbeing of clients and report as required.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Work independently and as an effective team member.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
