We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Works Manager** to join our team. As the Works Manager, you will be accountable to the Chief Executive Officer and responsible for assisting in the delivery of the annual works program and achievement of corporate and departmental objectives identified in the corporate business plan. This position also encompasses the oversight of service-specific goals and objectives within the functional areas.

**Position Details**:

- Full time FIFO / Work from home
- Total remuneration package negotiable based on qualifications, skills, and experience
- Council-provided furnished housing available rent-free when on-site, including electricity and water costs

**Position Objectives**:

- Assist the Chief Executive in preparing a 10 Year Rolling Forward Capital Works Plan (FCWP) aligned with the objectives of Asset Management Plans.
- Develop a Gravel Pit Plan in accordance with the FCWP.
- Provide professional advice to the Works Officer regarding asset management and works programs.
- Lead and manage the Shire's Road construction and maintenance program within budget and timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, and local laws in the delivery of services.
- Attend Council, Committee, and Community meetings, providing professional advice and preparing relevant correspondence.
- Promote a positive team environment and develop the performance of employees, contractors, and the team to achieve organisational objectives.
- Demonstrate a commitment to workplace health and safety, risk management, and public safety.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Relevant tertiary or diploma level qualification and/or equivalent experience in engineering, works and services, work health and safety, or local government.
- Experience in road construction and maintenance projects, budgeting, estimating, and project management.
- Knowledge of local government legislation, industry standards, and procurement requirements.
- Previous experience working and living in a remote community is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Proven ability to prioritise, monitor, and coordinate workload to achieve agreed outcomes within specified timeframes.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Current 'C' Class Driver's license.
