The establishments officer is responsible for the maintenance of the department’s organisation structure, position management and costing details in the department’s Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) Aurion and SAP, as well as advising on associated business processes and rules. You will have the ability to engage and consult with the Senior Executive, managers, employees, and other relevant stakeholders with the aim to maintain best practice HR organisation and position data governance.
**Who we are**
The People Branch sits within the department’s People Division and is responsible for strategic and operational focused human resources (HR) advice and support services, to support business areas in meeting their workforce needs.
The Workforce Planning team supports the department by developing workforce solutions, either through workforce planning via a combination of approaches, to meet the department’s current and future needs. Working in partnership across the branch, division and department, the team provides services and advice on employment frameworks, workforce planning, succession, metric and analysis, classification management, organisation structure management and surge capability. The Workforce Planning team offers the department a high level of expertise and is forward-looking in its focus, as well as providing day to day support in resolving emerging operational issues. The operating environment is diverse and varied, and a high level of consultation is required to identify and address stakeholder needs.
**The Job**
The role will have responsibility for working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to ensure a high level of data quality. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of position and org unit data within the HR Aurion and SAP Systems including undertaking organisational restructures, providing establishments reports and advice to managers across the department including Senior Executives, responding to general HR queries, updating process and procedure documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement of business rules and processes.
As an Establishments Officer, you will:
- action establishments tasks ensuring high client satisfaction.
- contribute to the Employee Relations and HR Reporting Section, helping to ensure the provision of a high-quality service that is aligned to Department priorities.
- Manage establishments by maintaining positions in the HRMIS including working with stakeholders to ensure positions are within the department’s funding.
- Maintain the department’s organisation structure in the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).
- Identify and provide feedback on efficiencies and opportunities to improve and/or streamline systems and processes.
- Manage restructures in the HRMIS as necessary by working with a range of stakeholders to ensure a timely implementation whilst maintaining a high level of data quality.
- Undertake regular position data verification processes to ensure consistent high-quality data accuracy.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals, including the development and support of complex relationships and maintaining internal and external networks.
- Provide expert advice and interpretation of HR data, including preparing relevant strategic advice where required.
- Contribute to project work across the section and branch, including collaboration and teamwork with others to achieve results.
**What we are looking for**
**Knowledge and experience**
- Understanding of how HR data is used to inform the development of business processes and procedures.
- managing establishments data, data governance, an understanding of job and organisation design principles, and strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in using HR systems for data entry and/or reporting.
**Skills and capabilities**
- Contemporary skills and experience in operational Human Resources, preferably in HR organisational data and establishments management.
- Strong customer service focus and understand that the customer is at the centre of service delivery and strategy development.
**Mandatory qualifications**
Understanding of how HR data is used to inform the development of business processes and procedures. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

**Citizenship**
- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.
**Security Clearance**
- This position requires a
**Baseline Vetting** security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
