Associate, Energy Sector

We have an exciting opportunity for an **Associate, Energy Sector** (seasoned Analysts will also be considered) in our Sydney based team. You‘ll work in our Energy Sector Coverage team and be part of the global Energy Sector platform that provides financial solutions to the major players in the energy sector from its regional hubs in Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Brussels, New York, Houston, Sydney and Singapore. Together with our product teams locally and in the wider APAC region, the Energy Team originates various types of banking solutions including project/structured finance, debt capital markets and financial markets to a wide range of Energy companies across ANZ. You’ll cave coverage across sub-sectors such as Renewables, Power, Utilities, New Energy Technologies (hydrogen, batteries and CCS) as well as Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream and downstream).

In this hands on role, you’ll help further develop our predominantly renewables business in Australia by assisting origination and execution of transactions as well as managing the existing portfolio of loans and credit exposures.

Are you ready to do your thing?

**What are you going to do? You will be**
- Contributing to the origination of new transactions by helping identify opportunities, monitoring market developments, attending investor presentations and drafting high-quality pitch books to clients;
- Supporting the team and managing the commercial and credit approval and legal documentation processes, including:

- Financial modelling
- Peer group evaluation
- Analysis of due diligence including technical, financial, business and market analysis
- Review of legal documentation
- Collaborating with our product partners in sustainable finance, financial markets, debt capital markets, capital structuring and advisory, and transaction services in delivery of solutions for our clients
- Managing operational processes for smooth execution of new transactions
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects / management and client related information requests

**What are we looking for? Someone who has**
- Proven track record of working in a transaction setting with strong financial and credit analysis capabilities
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably including energy sector
- Affinity for structured finance and the energy sector
- Strong financial modelling experience
- An ability to work without supervision on complex transactions with often tight timelines
- A highly motivated and entrepreneurial mindset and a pro-active and self-motivated disposition
