The Role

ALS Water operates a modern laboratory in Melbourne (Scoresby) equipped with the latest in analytical technology. Great opportunity for a full-time Laboratory Technician to to join our client-focused team in an afternoon-shift role.

The successful applicant will receive training and support in the technical components of the role and in a wide variety of processes associated with working in a modern laboratory.

The Day to Day
- Preparation and analysis of water and soil samples.
- Ensuring preparation and analytical procedures are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions (QWIs).
- Completing tasks within set timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard.
- Assisting in washroom and housekeeping duties
- Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies
- Reporting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour

The Essentials
- Experience in a high throughput environment - ideally with commercial laboratory exposure
- Excellent attention to detail, communications and organisational skills.
- Dedication to safe, quality laboratory practices.
- Strong commitment to client service
- A positive work attitude, willingness to learn new skills and to be a great team player.
- Available to work 3.00pm to 11.06 pm shift (initial 4-week job training between 10.00-6.00 pm)
