Are you a Mental Health Clinician with experience providing support to Aboriginal people and communities? We would love you to come and join our team and provide care and support to our Aboriginal mental health consumers.

This role includes providing:

- Assertive outreach to engage and support consumers
- Assessment and planning specialist clinical interventions, including support during crises through to recovery planning
- Assistance and consultation to SESLHD staff to facilitate the provision of high quality and culturally appropriate services to Aboriginal patients and their families
- Collaborative work within a multidisciplinary team and with community-based organisations
- Coordinating ongoing treatment for consumers of the team

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Services (SESLHDMHS) are leading the way in the development and delivery of evidence based, collaborative and innovative mental health service provision. SESLHDMHS provides comprehensive mental health services within a variety of settings and facilities across the lifespan.
To provide responsive and culturally appropriate mental health care to Aboriginal communities residing within the Sutherland geographical area.
As a member of a multidisciplinary mental health team, the position will provide short term and extended care coordination, mental health consultations, health promotion, consultations liaison role, assist with community development and cultural awareness programs.
The role will provide support to the Sutherland Mental Health Service as required to assist Aboriginal consumers within the service. This will include providing assistance to Aboriginal consumers as requested by the mental health inpatient unit, acute mental health services and community based mental health services. The role will be based across Sutherland Hospital and a local community organisation.
- Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing._
- All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW._
- Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations._
