**Your opportunity**:
The Science Technician provides assistance and support to the Science faculty staff. A suitable, self-motivated applicant must be able to partake in the following duties (tasks are not strictly limited to the below):

- Liaison with teaching and non-teaching staff
- Handling laboratory chemicals
- Laboratory management, set-up of practical lessons and support in classes
- Maintaining and storage of scientific equipment and chemicals
- Field trip preparation and teacher support
- Administrative duties

**What you need to succeed**:
It would also be highly advantageous to have experience with the following:

- Chemical Storage including Safety Data Sheets
- Previous laboratory experience
- Interest in STEM
- Knowledge of Practical investigations within the Qld Senior Science Syllabi

**Mandatory requirements**:

- TO2 appointees must have at a minimum, possession of a diploma qualification relevant to the tasks outlined, from a recognised tertiary institution or qualification which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education or delegate is acceptable.
- When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.

This is a TO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range.
