Catering Operations Officer

We are seeking an experienced Catering Operations Officer on a full-time basis to provide support to our catering departments at each of our residential aged care facilities across VIC and NSW. **The role comes with the expectation of regular travel for periods of time to the individual homes across the two states as required**.

**The Position**:
The Catering Operations Officer will be responsible for ensuring catering compliance, team member training and education, and resident dietary information for a designated portfolio of homes. The role will also include promoting opportunities for optimal performance, periodic internal audits and identifying and closing out corrective actions.

**Role duties include**:

- Supporting our sites on the delivery and maintenance of catering service standards across a portfolio of residential aged care homes in multiple states of Australia.
- Providing best practice direction, leadership and management to all catering staff across sites ensuring holistic care with regards to catering services.
- Providing catering compliance advice to General Managers and Regional Area Managers on identified areas of concern, risk and need for improvement in either personnel, process or systems efficiency.
- Managing services delivered by site-based catering staff to ensure that safe operating procedures and food safety plans are in accordance with relevant legislative requirements.
- Implementing Respect systems and checking mechanisms to ensure that Chefs and Cooks establish and maintain systems to ensure each resident’s changing eating needs are met.
- Ensuring all catering services meets professional, organisational, legal and ethical standards.
- Implementing, in conjunction with the General Manager and Learning and Development Manager, food safety education and learning calendars to ensure catering service staff have the necessary job competencies and are provided with developmental opportunities.
- Assisting with the selection, engagement, orientation and training of catering staff for each site when required.
- Escalating all matters related to compliance issues to the General manager, Catering Manager in accordance with Respect policy and procedures.
- Assisting with performance managing catering staff in accordance with Respect policies and procedures, in close partnership with the People and Culture Business Partners as required.
- Other associated duties as directed by the Catering Manager.

**Requirements**:
**What you can bring to the role**:

- Essential:_
- Qualification/s as a Chef or Cook and current Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
- A proven and successful record in a similar role.
- Experience in residential aged care, preferably managing multi-site catering services across multiple states of Australia.
- Sound Knowledge of Food Safety Compliance.
- A current Driver's License and willingness to regularly travel.
- A current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
- Desirable:_
- Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
