**Where you'll be working**
Murrumbidgee LHD specialist drug and alcohol services offers safe and non-judgmental support, advice and treatment.
Drug and alcohol clinicians are based in each of our community mental health, drug and alcohol services. They provide outpatient care, including medication, counselling and support to assist people to change their problematic drug and alcohol use and to get their lives back on track

**What you'll be doing**
The VMO GP Drug and Alcohol will provide outpatient drug and alcohol clinics with a focus on medical care within the Opioid Dependence Treatment under the NSW Opioid Treatment Program. The care you provide as part of the drug and alcohol specialist services will be professional, contemporary and comprehensive, incorporating safe, effective, evidenced based and person-centred care.
Requirements of the role include:
- Consultative, diagnostic, outpatient, face to face and potentially telehealth services as determined and required by MLHD
- Attendance and availability during rostered work hours, including clinical handover, clinical supervision, and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by MLHD
- The provision of support to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve safe clinical practice.
- Be aware of the general health care needs for the people you see and work with them to access care for these needs.

**Selection Criteria**
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP/ACRRM.
- Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in General Practice or Rural Medicine would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of drug and alcohol issues is desirable and further training will be provided.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide medical leadership for the team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
