**Surface Mount Technician**

We are a small electronics manufacturing company, based in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne, that specialise in the manufacture of innovative electronics products for different industries.

We are currently looking to add a Surface Mount Technician role to our team to improve the performance of the SMT area.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Programming, setup, and operation of pick and place machines, printers, reflow ovens, board loaders & conveyor systems.
- Perform setup and tear down on all feeders for all pick and place machines.
- Lead and improve preventative maintenance activities of production equipment.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement these.
- Capable of following & creating work instructions and process documentation.
- Train SMT operators in maintenance and operation.
- Ability to work with mechanical tooling/fixtures and understand electronic component specifications.
- Maintaining inspection equipment

**Required skills and attributes**
- 3-5 years SMT assembly experience.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written & verbal, with the capability to work well within a team and have a willingness to learn.
- Have a mechanical aptitude, with an ability to problem solve.
- Computer and software literacy required.
- An ability to understand and work to quality standards and maintain a clean & safe environment.
- An ability to prioritize & organise work, be self-motivated, and manage time effectively.

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Melbourne VIC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
