About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Community Engagement Worker to ensure the smooth functioning of the Campsie Connect Centre. Community members accessing the service will receive a quality service in line with the values of and service philosophy of TSA. Manages, organises and oversees activities related to functioning of the centre including the food pantry. This may include ensuring community member records are maintained accurately, cards and food are regularly reconciled, WHS requirements are met, the centre is well organised, food hygiene is maintained, budgets are followed.
You will have
- Ensure the operation of the Campsie Connect centre is in line with all TSA policies and reflects appropriate business practices
- Maintenance of accurate, up to date records and data in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems and governance systems
- Provide services to community members including information about accessing TSA services, issuing of EFTpos Cards, material aid, provision of refreshments
- Effectively and efficiently triage community member enquiries or requests for assistance and ensure referral to appropriate TSA services and or external services
- Plan, recruit, train community engagement volunteer workforce (expected to be total team of between 3-6 volunteers) (Typical team is expected to be 2-3 people per shift) [maximum 10]
- Manage and oversee Community Engagement Volunteer engagement, participation, induction, training and coaching to encourage personal growth and a harmonious team environment and to work alongside all ministries and programs
- Provide community engagement volunteer workforce with appropriate day to day leadership and direction
- Ensure community engagement volunteer workforce is compliant with all TSA requirements
- Organise (time limited) assistance programs including working with donors, identifying donees, and issuing and recording assistance
- Develop, implement, maintain and evaluate simple quality processes and systems for the Connect Centre
- Provide first aid for Connect Centre (expected 2-3 times per year)
This is a fixed term( 12 month role) part-time (18 hrs per week) position located in Campsie, NSW. Salary and conditions are in with the SCHADS Level 3 award.
You will successfully
- Demonstrated ability to work with people experiencing difficulties and crisis
- Understanding of contemporary approaches to provision of emergency relief/material aid/ generational/situational poverty
- Bilingual in English/Mandarin; English/Cantonese or English/Arabic) (highly regarded)
- First Aid Certificate (Essential)
- Current NSW Driver’s License
- At least 2 years administration experience (general office management) working autonomously
- Experience within a community or NFP setting would be well regarded
- A National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check is required
- Employment hours : 9-3.30 Tuesday, Thursday and Friday ( Fixed due to opening hours of centre)
