**THE OPPORTUNITY**

**The opportunity**

The Perth office is seeking a legal assistant (LA) to join their high performing Corporate group supporting Partners Paul Branston and Simon Reed, and the Corporate legal team. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is engaged, has a high work ethic and can provide efficient and effective support to their legal team and the wider group.

Our LAs play an important part in our business with the role of the LA providing high level quality administrative support in a timely and responsive manner to meet client requirements and to deliver an exceptional client experience.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Planning for and delivering high quality, accurate work whilst managing deadlines and competing priorities;
- Producing and compiling documents;
- Following effective work practices with partners and lawyers to assist the Practice Management Assistant) manage the matter life cycle from file opening to closure/archival
- Demonstrating enthusiasm and proactivity in the workplace, including participating in and contributing to local and global projects, innovation initiatives, support and practice group meetings and business improvement activities;
- Managing Partners internal and external appointments with appropriate meeting lead times including travel and diary management;
- Assisting with meeting preparation and the coordination of post meeting actions;
- Capturing and sharing information about client specific requirements;
- Producing weekly reports, monthly billing and expense reimbursement; and
- General administrative tasks and practice management.

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**

**To be successful in this role you will need the following skills**:

- At least 3 years' experience in a support role, ideally legal
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to building effective and trusting relationships with people internally and external to the firm
- Proven organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Good judgement and problem solving ability
- Strong matter management, client reporting and billing experience
- Knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

The role of our assistants is critical in assisting our people to perform at the highest level. The team provides high-quality support to partners and throughout our practice areas. This ranges from providing administrative support and diary management to producing a wide range of complex documents. Our legal support team also plays a client-facing role as our assistants are typically in regular contact with our clients on behalf of lawyers.
