Drilling Offsider

Macquarie Geotechnical is a Geotechnical Consulting / Drilling & Construction Materials Testing company working on road, rail and mining infrastructure projects throughout Australia. We maintain a fleet of modern drill rigs, support equipment and tools that are at the forefront of the industry.
- ** Offsider (Driller Assistant) - Experienced or Entry Level**

This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable professional company that is looking to expand its operations, with cutting edge machinery and technology.

**Responsibilities will incorporate assisting the Driller with**:

- Geotechnical and Environmental Investigations consisting of Sonic, Rotary Mud and Air Drilling as well as Wireline and conventional Diamond Coring techniques.
- In-Situ Testing comprising of Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), Push Tube as well as Piston Tube Sampling.
- Well installation comprising of groundwater and gas monitoring wells, inclinometers, VWP, SPE’s as well as MPE’s.
- General Maintenances and daily rig pre-start checks.
- Completion of company safety and operational documents.

**Minimum requirements for the Offsider position are**:

- Minimum MR Truck Licence
- NSW White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- First Aid Certificate (preferred but not essential)
- Current and valid RISI (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to obtain a Police Clearance (upon request)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical inclusive of D&A test

- Be physical fit as the position requires intensive manual labour
- Honest, trustworthy, and dependable personalities (highly regarded)
- Localised to our Sydney facility in Lidcombe
- Practical with trade skills an advantage
- Ability to work away from home (when required)
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team-based environment
- Experience or knowledge when working with machinery
- Previous offsiding experience (preferred but not essential)
- Licensed or VOC’d with use of backhoe (highly regarded)
- Strong OHS awareness and work ethic

Remuneration is negotiable and based on the applicant's experience.
