**Role**:
Perform and /or supervise tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practices, and service policies. To coordinate the Out of School Hours Care Program. The coordinator is responsible for the supervision and coordination of other OSHC staff within the work area or educational program. Supervision and coordination would include ensuring routine tasks are performed to required standards. Input into identifying training needs and development of OSHC staff within the work area. The coordinator is responsible for the quality of care ensuring it is of a high standard and must ensure the service complies with the Education and Care Services Laws/Regulations, the National Quality Framework for OSHC and the relevant service policies and procedures. The coordinator ensures the educational and recreational programs offered are undertaken in a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for all children attending the program.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS**:

- Diploma in Children's Services, Out of School Hours Care or other relevant qualification (completed or in progress)
- A current First Aid Certificate, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis and EpiPen Training
- A current Working with Children Check
- Demonstrable skill and enjoyment in working with children, and an excellent understanding of primary-aged children
- An ability to form genuine and positive relationships with children, families and staff
- Excellent ability to help manage a team in collaborative learning practices

**Responsibilities**:
**Ensure compliance with the**:

- the National Law and Regulations and National Quality Framework (NQF) Quality Areas, Standards and Elements
- the Principles, Practices and Outcomes detailed in the Early Years Learning Framework, and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
- Any other relevant legislation

**Manage the day-to-day operations of the program**:

- Design, implement and evaluate program activities inclusive of all children, which are fun, stimulating and challenging for children, involving a range of activities and choices, with a balance between different forms of play
- Establish and maintain links with the school council
- Establish recruitment and induction processes for new Educators
- Provide leadership, training and professional development to OSHC team members
- Create and deliver training workshops for new and existing Educators in OSHC policies and Code of Conduct, planning and programming, observation and evaluation
- Promote a supportive atmosphere and working environment for Educators
- Foster a team culture that is collaborative, reflective and positive by distributing leadership and responsibility amongst the team
- Provide leadership, supervision, support and evaluation of support staff
- Develop and maintain the program's Quality Improvement Plan
- Assist in the upkeep of medical details for all children regarding allergies, immunisations and incidents
- Continue personal professional growth through attendance at Networks and training and encourage staff to participate in appropriate training and professional development when appropriate
- Create, update and evaluate service policies and procedures
- Complete and maintain accident, injury, trauma and illness reports and records and administration of medication records
- Be familiar with medical details of children attending the service, ensure their needs are met, and advise and train educators about the risks posed to each of these children and how to manage these risks
- Be familiar with the school emergency procedures as stated in the relevant policy
- Prepare documentation required as part of the National Quality Framework
- Ensure the security of school premises at the beginning and end of each care session
- Ensure the safe departure of educators and children
- Ensure child enrolment records are up to date
