**The Opportunity**:

- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a **Part Time Library Officer - Branch Programs**to join their team in Lithgow, NSW for a period of up to 12 months.

Reporting to the Library Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering best-practice Library and Outreach programs through planning, delivery, evaluation, and communication; provide direct customer service and enhance customer engagement. This position works across all library branches depending on rostering requirements.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- Assist with the planning, preparation, and delivery of library programs and events for various age groups which may include community interests, including digital literacy programs, preschool Storytime, book groups and author talks.
- Liaise with local schools and community groups to build partnerships and engage them with the library.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Branch Library under supervision of the Library Coordinator and in partnership with the Library Officer - Branch Services.
- In conjunction with the Library Officer - Branch Services, ensure there is an appropriate range of stock and library resources to meet local needs. Contribute to the collection development by assisting with selection and accessioning of library resources.
- Contribute to maintenance of Library Statistical Information through collection and reporting of statistics relating to all aspects of Branch usage and services.

**About you**:

- Completion or progress towards completion of a Diploma in Library and Information Services or equivalent, recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or related tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated experience delivering educational or recreational public programs for diverse audiences.
- At least 2 year’s experience working in a public library.
- Experience in the delivery of quality customer service to internal and external customers
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Current Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated commitment to the principals of honesty and integrity
