Forensicare provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria’s 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region. This position based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, provides 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds as well as assessments and outpatient services provided in maximum-security forensic mental health complex within the medium-security prison.
**About the Role**:
Ward Clerks across Prison Services Forensic Mental Health Services - This position is based on Erskine Unit Ravenhall Correction Centre. Our Ward Clerk provide high quality administrative support to the multi-disciplinary teams working within the service. The Ward Clerks work under the direction of the relevant Program/Unit Manager who is responsible for the management of the area and will provide guidance on work priorities. Health Information Manager will provide Health Information support and guidance as required
**Duties**:
- Be responsible for the efficient collation and maintenance of patient health records and
- information - in accordance with Forensicare and Justice Health policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Assist with the registration, admission and discharge of patients on the Statewide mental health computer system known as CMI/RAPID ensuring a high level of data entry accuracy.
- Maintain patient lists, and ensure all relevant documentation for admissions, transfers and separations is completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain the medical record tracking system and requests medical records as necessary.
- Attend Unit and other meetings as required, and document and distribute minutes after approval by the manager who chaired the meeting.
- Scan forms and clinical reports into JCare as required.
- Enter data into the Statewide Mental Health System - CMI/RAPID, ensuring a high level of data entry accuracy
**What you need**:
- Demonstrated ability to provide administrative assistance in a health or mental health setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of RAPID (Statewide mental health database)
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to relate sensitively and professionally with patients
