Located in Bicton, Carinya Care Services has been caring for elderly West Australian’s for over 50 years. As a family run business, everything our dedicated team do is built on care and compassion, with the resident at the heart and soul of our person-centered care model.

Recently a permanent part time position has become available, working within our Transitional Care Program (TCP) 10am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Our TCP unit provides a range of short-term care services to eligible elderly people following a hospital stay to help them regain as much independence as possible. With a maximum stay of 12 weeks, this program assists clients in making long term care and support arrangements for either their journey back into a home setting or into Residential Aged Care.

You will assist the Physiotherapist in organising therapeutic and pain management activities to the elderly residents in this unit. The work on this unit is fast pace, with regular admissions and discharges, thus ensuring your days are busy and dynamic.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Participating in the organisation and planning of therapy programs.
- Delivering a range of therapy-based activity programs as directed.
- Providing safe and effective services and supports for daily living that meets the emotional, spiritual and psychological wellbeing needs of residents.
- Maintaining records and progress notes as required by the Physiotherapist, reporting findings on responses to treatments and programs and contribute observations for assessment and care evaluations.
- Assisting with mobilising and transferring clients - moving from place to place and position to position.
- Attending regular meetings with the Physiotherapist to review client outcomes and treatment programs.
- Attending and actively participating in regular compulsory training, competency sessions and regular staff meetings

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Certificate III Allied Health Assistance (or similar)
- Experience in Aged Care (desirable)
- Experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant (or similar)
- Availability to work 5 days per week. (No work restrictions)
- Valid Police Clearance less than 6 months old (or provide a receipt at interview stage)
- The ability to work as a team and individually
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability and commitment to uphold high standards of work
- A passion and empathy for working with the elderly

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 33 per week

**Salary**: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
