Disaster and Flood Risk Officer

**About the role**

Do you have a passion for making a difference to people's safety every day? As Disaster and Flood Risk Officer you will coordinate and deliver a number of projects within the Emergency Management Section such as Community Based Action Plans and Flood Response Plans and help protect our residents, visitors and business owners.

In consultation with key stakeholders, some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Plan and deliver works related to the floodplain risk management projects
- Undertake regular program and project management monitoring
- Provide advice to the project sponsor, funding bodies and other managers
- Collaborate and engage with Council’s internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and community to ensure the successful delivery of projects

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines: integrated catchment management, floodplain management, disaster management, community development
- Relevant professional graduate qualification and/or substantial equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership

This is a fixed-term full time position for 18 months, Level 6 with a salary commencing at $100,533 plus superannuation of up to 12.5% and leave loading.
