Anaesthetic Technician, Perioperative Department

The SCUH ORS provides 24hr 7 day a week services for elective, trauma and emergency surgery supported by an after-hours on-call service. Within the ORS there are 20 operating theatres, with 14 commissioned, extended day surgery unit and 40 bay post anaesthetic care unit with 20 bays commissioned.

**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Prepare the anaesthetic environment and assist the Anaesthetist during all phases of anaesthesia
- Provide skilled assistance for all elective and emergent anaesthetic procedures
- Maintaining professional standards
- Participate in and contribute to educational activities held within the department
- Participate in education and training of Anaesthetic trainees and graduates
- Participate in the departmental roster, including continuous shift rotations of up to 10-hour duration and on call
