**Position Information**:
Corrimal East Public School is located in the northern suburbs of Wollongong and within walking distance to Corrimal Beach. Our Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) of 92 which indicates a change in community. Including 6.7% Aboriginal students and 11.4% of students with English as a second language. School enrolment numbers have steadily increased each year. Our current enrolment is 276 students, including ten mainstream and three Autism Support classes.
The school is a member of the Corrimal Community of Schools and has a dynamic partnership with our local feeder secondary school, Corrimal High School.
Our attendance rate is 91.2%. We have an inclusive student wellbeing approach with our school values being Respect, Safety, Excellence.
The school enjoys the support of it's parent body. The Parents and Citizen's association meets twice a term and supports the school's future focused Literacy and Numeracy.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, with a proven capacity to work collaboratively as part of an executive team and effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher and the varied responsibilities of the Assistant Principal role.
Demonstrated capacity to lead, model and implement high quality evidence-based programs that improve student outcomes, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
Proven ability to analyse and use a range of data to build the capacity of individuals and teams, to improve student outcomes and align with the School Improvement Plan.
Develop and sustain a culture of inclusion and strong partnerships, valuing the richness and diversity of our school community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
