Specialists in television lighting design and technical production management, Mitech Design is looking for a lighting technician to join our team.

As a Lighting Technician at Mitech Design you will be technical and creative lead for assigned lighting and video projects. You will be responsible for providing exceptional lighting programming and operating for a variety of Mitech Design projects. You will also be responsible for the programming and operating of media servers, along with the integration of media servers and lighting systems.

About the role:

- Lead and manage the technical setup and execution of lighting projects to ensure we achieve, and ideally exceed, the desired visual effects.
- Program, plot and operate lighting consoles and follow spot systems.
- Program and operate media server and playback systems.
- Oversee media management and ensure a smooth, efficient workflow.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for external creative teams, directors, producers, all relevant production crew to ensure clear and effective communication of all design and operational elements of a project.

About you:

- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Lighting Technician.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a broadcast or live event environment.
- Minimum of 3 years operating lighting in a television environment.
- Proven knowledge of lighting systems.
- Knowledge of general networking principles along with specific expertise in DMX, sACN, Artnet, MA net, and OSC.
- Extensive knowledge of GrandMA3, 3D visualisation software like Depence and WYSIWYG, and d3.
- Proven expertise in media server programming and playout systems.
- Exceptional communication skills across all stakeholders - i.e. clients, directors, producers, creative teams, other production crew and peers
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to work outside the standard 9 to 5 and travel. The position will be based on Sydney but will require travel for client projects.

Pay: $76,515.84 - $89,841.90 per year
