**Description**:
**The role**:
We are seeking a casual Catering Assistant to work at one of our key education sites in Parkville, just a 20 minute drive from Melbourne CBD. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will work as part of a team to ensure that our students, staff, and guests enjoy their meals in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere, with excellent food service and quality.
**Roster**: Various hours, Monday to Sunday

$25.85 per hour (base rate) + casual loading and applicable weekend penalty rates

**What this role involves**:
Assisting with food preparation (e.g. peeling/chopping vegetables, making sandwiches and salads)
Providing friendly customer service
Plating and serving meals to a diverse range of customers
Washing dishes and keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy
Assisting with preparation and service of functions and conferences
**Skills and Experiences**:
Previous experience assisting in all aspects of kitchen operations and service
Ability to organise work with other team members and take direction
Reliability and availability for various days and hours
Ability to comply with OH&S and food safety practices
Ability to work in a fast paced environment during peak service periods
