This role will require working in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to, a person’s home or place of residence, other services, community groups and other community settings.
The Disability Support Worker will provide individual support to people with disability including personal care, social & community support and more, using a flexible, responsive, and individualised approach to assist participants to meet their individual needs, wants and goals.
**SELECTION CRITERIA**
- Qualifications_
- Minimum Certificate III in Disability Services or equivalent industry experience.
- Previous employment experience in the disability/community services sector is highly desirable.
- Experience, Skills and Knowledge_
- Experience in working with people with physical and intellectual disability, including psycho-social disabilities, and providing quality services that assist individuals to maintain their independence and participate in their community.
- Ability to respond professionally and effectively to competing priorities, use initiative and work independently and in a team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to work independently and report accurately to supervisor.
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with participants, their families and community agencies.
- Proficiency in the use of computer software such as Word and Excel, Adobe
- Have cultural awareness & commitment to work respectfully with Indigenous and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse people (including staff, staff & their families) and other communities of interest.
- Willingness to participate in supervision, reflect on practices, review performance and adhere to work plans and reasonable workplace directives.
- Ability to display discretion and sound judgement, with confidential and sensitive information.
- A commitment to non-discriminatory work practices, WHS and access and equity principles.
- Licenses, Certificates and Professional Registrations_
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- National Police Criminal History Report with an acceptable outcome.
- First Aid Certificate (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Covid-19 Vaccinated
- NSW Drivers Licence (p's or above)
- Relevant Qualifications

**Salary**: $31.00 - $38.00 per hour
