**About the Team**

The External Communications Team is responsible for the planning and delivery of:

- communications strategies, including public information campaigns, to increase the awareness and understanding of Australian workplace laws and the role of the Fair Work Ombudsman
- digital engagement via social media and other online platforms
- the development of externally-facing documents/reports
- a strong brand identity and positioning for the Fair Work Ombudsman, including daily management of the agency’s brand and narrative.

**Typical Duties**

As a Communications Officer - Graphic Design and Multimedia, your typical duties will include:

- contributing to the design and production of a variety of digital and print assets, with a particular focus on motion graphics / animation for social media and digital advertising
- monitoring the use of the organisation’s brand guidelines and provide advice as and when required
- assisting in the development and execution of external communications initiatives, including campaigns, publications, and social media content
- contributing to the development of the organisation’s brand, including contributing to the values, voice and narrative
- providing advice on communications issues for the Fair Work Ombudsman and working as part of a team to deliver these outcomes
- developing externally facing written materials and publication production (including reports and creative collateral)
- support for the day-to-day delivery of communications campaigns and social media engagement activities (including community management and comment moderation)
- developing and maintaining relationships, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to develop communications-related activities and materials
- supporting team members and senior staff to respond to emerging issues and changing priorities.

The successful applicant may be required to undertake limited interstate travel.

**What we are looking for**

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated person with relevant communications, graphic design and multimedia experience to work as part of a small team to create, deliver and maintain a range of communications programs, messages and materials.

You’ll have a proven ability to conceptualise, design, plan and produce a range of projects including promotional material, corporate publications, collateral and digital marketing media for use on social media and websites. These activities help educate, promote fairness and ensure compliant Australian workplaces.

You must have demonstrated experience and skills in:

- Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects or similar

Prior experience with communications campaigns and/or social media community management is also desirable.

**Selection criteria**
- Relevant graphic design and communications experience and demonstrated ability to develop, manage and deliver a range of communications projects.
- Excellent design skills with knowledge of design principles, production processes, standards and quality control across a variety of mediums including print, online, video production and animation.
- Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience developing productive and positive working relationships across locations and with a range of stakeholders.
- Good written communication skills, including an ability to tailor writing to suit different audiences, mediums and purposes while maintaining attention to detail
