- 5 days a week, average 40 hours a week, including an average of 3 Saturdays a month. *Note we trade Sundays only in December so must be available for at least 2 of these.

The store is home to more than 30 of Melbourne’s best jewellers and artists, with the addition of some overseas-based makers. The jewel box space hosts an exclusive collection of pieces - from the exquisitely beautiful and wearable, to the conceptual and experimental. We also specialise in facilitating bespoke commissions and love working with our customers to create custom engagement and wedding rings, as well as precious jewels of personal significance.

ASSISTANT RETAIL MANAGER JOB ROLE

The Assistant Retail Manager involves managing the day-to day functions of retail operations and effectively lead the retail team to fulfil their duties. Areas of responsibilities include planning, managing and maintaining the retail store; protecting the store and merchandise; providing customer service; and coordinating the movement of goods and people within the store.

They are passionate and confident to work in the retail industry and enjoy meaningful interactions with customers, represented artists and fellow team members. Our team genuinely enjoys driving the business forward by providing excellence across the board and meeting targets to ensure the success of the business can be celebrated by all.

The Assistant Retail Manager drives the realisation of the business strategies by developing business opportunities, fostering relationships with clients/artists, and establishing operations and service excellence standards.

They are also responsible for driving the organisation’s innovation and productivity aspirations. They operate in a rapidly transforming business environment and function through their understanding of consumers’ preferences, operational activities and industry landscape to enhance sales performance, operations and service level.

They are a resourceful, forward-thinking leader who is able to multitask effectively. They are able to inspire their retail team and lead with confidence in collaboration with the Retail Manager. They promote a positive working culture and drive the achievement of sales results. They are energetic, adaptable, highly-driven and sales-oriented. They also possess strong people management skills and are able to engage with management and key stakeholders.

RETAIL OPERATIONS

Retail Operations involves managing the day-to-day functions of the retail business. Areas of responsibilities include planning, managing and maintaining the retail store; protecting the store and merchandise; providing excellent customer service; visual merchandising; and coordinating the movement of goods and people within the store.

This includes opening and closing the store, managing client appointments and daily interactions with visiting customers, managing inquiries over the phone and social media, confidently converting engaged customers to purchase.
