As part of our "Foster & Kinship program," you will play a crucial role in providing targeted support to recruit, train, assess, and support Foster & Kinship carers, ensuring the individual needs of children and young people in Out of Home Care (OOHC) are met. In this full-time position, you will have the chance to work collaboratively with a supportive team, empowering Foster and Kinship carers to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people under their care. Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children and young people, focusing on meeting their individual needs. - Support Foster and Kinship carers, offering guidance and assistance in their vital role. - Assess complex and extreme needs of children and develop and implement individualized care plans, including in-home support. - Conduct training and facilitate support groups to equip carers with the necessary skills and knowledge. - Operate within child-centered frameworks, emphasizing a family-focused network. - Ensure timely and accurate completion of complex documentation in adherence to guidelines. - Collaborate with professionals and stakeholders in the child protection field. **Requirements**: - Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences, or a similar field. - Previous experience working with Carers, including training, recruitment, and onboarding of new carers. - Demonstrated expertise in assessing complex needs of children and developing individualized care plans. - Understanding and knowledge of child protection, including the Children Protection Act. - Experience in training and facilitating support groups. - Ability to work within child-centred frameworks within a family-focused network. - Current Blue Card (Working with Children) or willingness to obtain. - Current Licensed Care Service (LCS). - Current Queensland Driver's License. - Current COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate. - We offer a supportive and inclusive work environment that values teamwork, professional development, and making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
