We have a unique opportunity for a talented, experienced, “Technical and Product Manager Non-Food” which is a brand-new role, as part of our growth in our exciting Private Label function.

Key tasks include:
You will be the Subject Matter Expert in PL product development for Petbarn Non-Food PL, supporting Category, Sourcing & other cross-functional teams and must be able to understand business priorities and strategies.
Management of PL product development processes across Category and Sourcing teams to deliver product briefs/initiatives, including functionality, quality and purpose.
Management of end-to-end delivery of PL NPD, from category brief and in consultation with Category or Sourcing and other key stakeholders
Adhere to timelines and critical deadlines to ensure delivery of initiatives in line with all process requirements.
Working collaboratively with all internal stakeholders including Category, Sourcing, QA, Supply Chain and Database teams
Management of supplier partnerships, new and current
Supporting Head of PL Non-Food International, Product & ESG & QA Compliance Lead in the build of QA testing policies, protocols and processes to meet Australian standards.
Management of the established Non-Food QA processes and protocols in liaison with QA Compliance Lead, across suppliers, Category and Sourcing teams
Business lead on QA or Product Specification supplier discussions
Build and ongoing management of QA repository of documentation.
Build and ongoing management of Non-Food Product Specifications, and repository of documentation
Provide guidance with product specification changes against Australian standards

You must have:
You must be very hands on, this role will have a of administration.
5 years plus experience in Product Development or Sourcing Specialist/Manager role, preferably with Private Label experience, with a soft or hard goods background is ideal.
Extensive knowledge in QA, product componentry & composition, testing protocols etc
Strong negotiation and communication skills, the ability to work closely with direct manufacturers, suppliers & internal stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a small team and develop staff
Proven ability to be organised, to prioritise, be flexible and possess excellent time management skills
Intermediate to Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on excel and PowerPoint)
Proactive, shows initiative and drive to achieve results
Reasoned problem solving - identifying issues, providing solutions
