**Your new role**

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will safely operate machinery in order to sort, grade and purchase metals. This is a diverse and rewarding role for someone who takes pride in above the line thinking — owning their responsibilities, stepping up, and working safely with purpose.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Belt picking (as needed) identifying and sorting materials
- Traffic control within the yard (as required)
- Operating forklifts, excavators & other machinery (as required)
- Container loading for transport and export
- General yard duties and housekeeping
- Ensure customers receive a high level of service
- Grading and sorting materials
- Assisting downstream shredding operations
- Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures

**To be successful in this opportunity, you will have**:

- Forklift (LF) license
- Ability to work independently
- A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training in order to diversify your skills
- Excellent attendance, reliability and attention to detail
- A strong work ethic and a safety-first approach
- Someone who leads with accountability and initiative
- Flexibility to jump into a range of tasks each day
- Experience in a metal recycling or heavy industrial environment (preferred)
