Job Description Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a HSEQ Manager to join our ConnectSydney team.
About the Role
ConnectSydney, a joint venture between Service Stream, Boral and Johnson Controls, will be delivering the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract for the Harbour Zone in metropolitan Sydney. Reporting Line: Project Director
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Network Assurance Team, including all HSEQ functions on behalf of ConnectSydney
- Manage Sustainability aspects of the SRAP contract in accordance with ISC requirements and the sustainability management plan.
- Advise ConnectSydney’s management team on quality, health, safety and wellbeing concepts and collaborate with TfNSW on implementing safe, caring and reliable HSEQ practices.
- Implement an effective safety, environment and quality auditing program to provide assurance of regulatory compliance and maintain currency of all associated documentation.
- Assess subcontractor HSE submissions, lead onboarding meetings and SWMS reviews, conduct initial site surveillance.
- Build an in-depth knowledge of Critical Risk Controls, conduct risk assessments and provide advice to project leaders.
- Oversee and participation in inductions, training, toolbox meetings, investigations, monitor and review contractor safety procedures.
- Provide specialist safety, environment and quality guidance to line managers, HSE representatives and employees.
- Coordination of internal and external audits of management systems and ensure that compliance obligations and hazards are undertaken according to the level of underlying risk.
- Oversee incident investigation to meet internal and regulatory timeframes.
- Manages the Emergency and Incident Response Plan (EIRP) under document control and ensure it is followed by conducting audits and checks of the plan and systems, in addition to the Team’s preparedness and training.
About You
- Desirable Cert IV in training and Assessment
- Desirable tertiary qualifications in a HSEQ Discipline
- Desirable Lead Auditor Qualifications
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in transport construction management or maintenance environment
- Proven ability to provide practical solutions.
- Proven experience in engaging and liaising with front line staff & supervisors / managers, senior managers, industry specialists, clients and regulatory authorities.
- Proven ability to develop partnerships with a range of stakeholders including management, staff, clients, regulatory bodies and the community.
- Proven ability to lead and engage a diverse range of people.
