**Compassionate Clinical Nurse Needed at SALHN**

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Outpatient Regional Manager, this role will be involved in working with specified individual patients/clients and/or groups/populations, in this case which is people with alcohol and drug related problems. Duties for the role will include:

- Working with the patient and their non-DASSA nursing, medical and allied health treating team, to plan and provide care for the patient,
- Providing proficient clinical nursing care to patients referred to the hospital Consultation Liaison Service with high severity alcohol and drug related problems and concurrent comorbid medical and mental health issues,
- Act to resolve local and/or immediate nursing care or service delivery problems,
- Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience

**About you**:

- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
- 12 months in an acute medical & surgical hospital setting within a consultation and liaison multidisciplinary service providing assessment of people with complex drug and alcohol, physical health and mental health issues and development of care plans,
- (non-essential) Tertiary qualifications in nursing or human services related discipline such as Post Graduate Diploma or Masters qualifications in addictions, substance use disorder, mental health nursing, or the willingness to undertake further study
