This is an acute care teaching hospital of approximately 600 beds, and a tertiary referral centre that provides a broad range of specialist services to the local and regional community. This is the largest public hospital in the region, supporting a population of almost 540,000, with strong links to community-based services that provide continuity of care for patients. The hospital is also the principal teaching hospital of the region with close links to the 17th best university in the world and number one in Australia.
**The Role**:
An exciting opportunity exists in Canberra, for a Psychiatrist to join a small team of psychiatrists providing services to the community.
The Mental Health Services a catchment population of up to 80,000.
The Mental Health Service is a specialist service covering an area of 25,000 km. Mental Health Services offer the full range of public mental health services including a 12 bed inpatient acute unit, CAMHS, Adult and Aged Care Community Multidisciplinary Teams.
**Requirements**:
You must have specialist experience in Older Person’s Psychiatry, and high-level skills relevant to both inpatient and community services, including the provision of ECT services
