An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic clinical haematologist to join the Austin Clinical Haematology team, and contribute to the provision of clinical services, complementing work in a research higher degree at Austin Health.
**About the department**:
Clinical Haematology forms part of the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre at Austin Health, and provides services for a wide range of benign and malignant haematological conditions in the inpatient, specialist clinics, day treatment and home settings. Apheresis, autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation form part of the service in close collaboration with Austin Pathology’s Laboratory Haematology team. A consultative service is also provided throughout Austin Health and extends to Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg, and other regional health service partners.
**About the role**:
- Hours per week: 3.5 hours
- Fixed responsibilities: One clinic a week - day and time of week, and content of clinic, to be advised
- Appointment period: Fixed term, commencing Mon 3 Feb 2025, concluding Sun 2 Feb 2026
**To be successful for this role you must**:
- Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians or equivalent
- Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Clinical Haematology
- Demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care
- Demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe and quality care across the continuum, and
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, training and research.
- Be enrolled, or intend to enrol, in a research higher degree affiliated with Austin Health Department of Clinical Haematology under the supervision of a clinician-researcher affiliated with the Department
