The Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team at our Moranbah SSAN depot. As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring optimal outcomes in safety, commercial, customer satisfaction, leading teams, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage branch operations and administration efficiently
  • Implement new business contracts and start-ups successfully
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and expanded scope of work for existing business activities to profitably grow the business in the region
  • Ascertain industry and logistics best practices to identify new and/or unique programs
  • Track, analyze, and deliver presentations and communications related to key performance measures, program updates, and ongoing program information
  • Manage the supply of logistics to support customers
  • Investigate potential risks and other matters of significance, provide solutions, and implement those solutions in consultation with stakeholders
  • Serve as liaison to customer teams to develop systems solutions to support logistics programs
  • Serve as liaison with all stakeholders for daily operational activities
  • Consult with clients to understand their distribution networks and determine the logistics resources required to support equipment, safety, personnel, and maintenance
  • Implement, monitor, and adjust solutions to ensure the integration of support considerations as needed
  • Select and hire employees, train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product, evaluate employee performance, and address any performance issues by making recommendations for personnel actions
  • Responsible for the strategic and operational planning of customer logistics operations
  • Ensure stakeholders understand and accept customer guidelines and requirements for all logistics operations, including service and repair
  • Drive the design, development, implementation, and management of logistics solutions for the customer
  • Meet pre-determined KPIs and actively participate in performance reviews
  • Monitor drivers' hours on a daily basis, addressing any discrepancies immediately
  • Monitor fuel usage for individual prime movers (i.e., km against litres or vice versa)
  • Investigate all incidents and provide findings to both the client and management personnel
  • Complete accurate weekly and monthly reports
  • Carry out cost management for all areas of responsibility, including wages, maintenance, tyres, fuel, etc.
  • Report on overall financial performance of the branch

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity within the Transport and Logistics industry, preferably with exposure within the resources sector
  • Exceptional safety leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of SSAN road transport
  • MC License preferable
  • DG License preferable
  • QSEC Card must be obtainable
  • EDL License preferable
  • Outstanding commercial and financial acumen
  • Full profit and loss accountability at either contract or branch level
  • Superior communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work across the division
