About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Policy Advisor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to implement ground-breaking legislative change designed to improve gender equality outcomes for the Victorian public sector and wider Victorian community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver accurate and timely policy and legislation advice related to the operation of the Gender Equality Act to the Public Sector Gender Equality Commissioner, Senior Executives, and the Minister for Women.
  • Prepare submissions, briefs, and reports for Ministers, Members of Parliament, the Commissioner, and others, as required.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate complex strategic reform projects.

Requirements

  • High-performing and proactive self-starter with a strong understanding of government processes.
  • Ability to develop strategic policy in a complex environment.
  • Build collaborative relationships and networks.
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
  • Deliver a range of tasks in a sensitive and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in and/or understanding of gender equality work, legislation, regulation, and an understanding of the national and international legislative landscape.
