Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Financial Analyst - Financial Reporting to join our team at our Global Headquarters in Adelaide. This key position will assist the Financial Reporting team with the provision of timely, reliable, and relevant accounting technical information to support the management of group activities and meet external financial statutory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the Santos Group Financial Statements for half-year and year-end reporting periods, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and control the annual subsidiary financial statements process.
  • Liaise with external auditors for both the Group and subsidiary financial statement process.
  • Participate in the Group entity management committee and facilitate intercompany dividends, recapitalisations, investment, and intercompany impairments.
  • Maintain the SAP entity structure, including new entities and liquidated entities, and ensure correct roll-up of entities for Group reporting purposes and sub-group level consolidations.
  • Coordinate internal control environment attestation and seek opportunities for continuous improvement, focusing on key finance internal controls.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, with Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, or CPA Australia, or equivalent.
  • Sound technical knowledge of Corporation Law, Accounting Standards, and other relevant statutory reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in researching Accounting Pronouncements and assessing their impact.
  • Professional experience in Accounting with a Chartered Accounting firm or accounting section of a large corporate organisation, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
