In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across various service areas, including general maintenance, extensive repairs, and specialized bus services. Your daily tasks will involve handling a diverse range of Volvo, Mack, and UD models, from initial inspections to complex electrical repairs, including our Hybrid buses. This position offers a fantastic chance to enhance your skills and become a leading mechanic in the industry.
Your Primary Duties- Conduct repairs, servicing, and inspections on engines, transmissions, braking systems, differentials, and more for a variety of trucks and buses.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software for thorough analysis and troubleshooting.
- Create detailed reports documenting all repairs performed, including materials used and prioritized recommendations.
- Assist and mentor apprentice mechanics and other team members.
- Possession of a minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Trade.
- Experience in the heavy vehicle sector, particularly with American, European, or Japanese drivetrains, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a customer-oriented team.
- A current HC/HR driver's license is advantageous but not essential.
- Demonstrated pride in workmanship with a focus on achieving high standards and targets.
- Strong motivation, reliability, and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Effective communication skills with a strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Possession of personal tools (specialized tools are available from our in-house tool room).
