The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team. As a member of our community, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents by creating and leading engaging programs that foster connection, joy, and overall well-being.

About The Role

  • Create, implement, and assess therapeutic wellness programs for independent and assisted living residents, aligning with our wellness model.
  • Collaborate with assisted living manager, chaplains, and activity assistants to develop customized activities.
  • Tailor programs to meet unique resident needs, foster community, and enhance holistic wellness.
  • Review, assess, and adjust activity plans regularly based on observation, team member input, and attendance.
  • Coordinate and schedule internal programs and external outings.
  • Prepare activity calendar considering activation, life skills, recreation, and social needs.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with residents and fellow team members.
  • Ensure department coverage and program delivery through effective scheduling and workload distribution.
  • Liaise with external agencies, recruiting resources for programs and events to meet resident needs.
  • Uphold Baptist Housing values as an ambassador for the organization.
  • Report directly to the administrator.

Requirements

  • Two years of recent related experience coordinating recreation programs for seniors.
  • Current certification in Emergency First Aid OFA level 1.
  • Valid Class 4 (unrestricted) driver's license with clear driver's abstract.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Having an activity aid certificate and/or diploma is considered an asset.
