About the Client

Our client is a leading global network operator, boasting one of the top 10 largest globally peered IPv4 and IPv6 networks. This enables providers to connect efficiently with their end-users, regardless of location.

Key Requirements

  • 8+ years of commercial experience in network security and engineering
  • Expertise in Linux and network engineering with a focus on security and DDoS mitigation
  • Strong knowledge of packet filtering using iptables, nftables, or pf, including hardware offloading for rule management
  • Proven experience in building DDoS mitigation solutions, specifically at L3/L4, with potential L7 capabilities
  • Hands-on experience with leveraging x86 hardware for implementing firewall and filtering rules
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a DDoS mitigation solution, focusing on packet filtering and scrubbing architecture
  • Utilize iptables/nftables/pf to manage and offload rules to hardware effectively
  • Focus on implementing L3/L4 packet filtering, with future opportunities to work on L7
  • Apply deep knowledge of x86 hardware to optimize firewall and filtering capabilities within the network infrastructure
