Design Assistant Apparel Role

As a Design Assistant in our apparel team, you will play a key role in creating and developing commercial and innovative products.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our business by working closely with designers to create future concepts and product developments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting designers in the creation and execution of new concepts and product development.
  • Assisting with seasonal colour and textile print developments.
  • Preparing work requests for new style prototypes, development packs, and technical data sheets.
  • Liaising with garment technicians on work requests and following up on sample developments.
  • Completing small design projects under the guidance of your manager.
  • Using creative forecast services, magazines, colour authorities, websites, and market analysis to assist in providing information for trend directions, storyboards, and project work.
  • Collaborating and developing strong relationships with cross-functional teams and our international sourcing teams.
  • Preparing quality presentations and sales tools for internal range showings, sales conferences, and retail range showings.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in fashion design or related field.
  • An understanding of fit and construction principles.
  • An innovative and creative approach to design and development.
  • Intermediate to high-level experience in Excel and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Curiosity and team player capability.
  • Packaging development/componentry awareness.
  • Previous exposure to PLM systems (preferred).
  • A proven track record in similar design/product-related roles.
  • Passion for building, developing, and optimising processes and practices with sustainability and community in mind.
