About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Estimator to join our team at Siteforce Recruitment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects across Queensland, working closely with clients and project teams to ensure timely completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with clients to identify tender opportunities and gather necessary information;
  • Review and analyze tender packages, assessing scope and particulars to ensure comprehensive understanding;
  • Prepare and request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors in accordance with project requirements;
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations against desired outcomes and make recommendations;
  • Take off and calculate material quantities from drawings using first principles basis;
  • Calculate and apply production rates for labor, plant, and equipment;
  • Calculate and program overall project duration and overheads in consultation with the Construction Manager;
  • Prepare professional and accurate tender submissions;
  • Negotiate with clients to secure new projects;
  • Assess contractor administrators for variation claims preparation.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role post-graduation with a Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years with a Trade Qualification;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying, or Trade Qualification in Carpentry;
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry and process of building;
  • Strong knowledge and ability to read and understand drawings;
  • Strong knowledge and ability to accurately take off materials to first principles basis;
  • Strong knowledge and ability to accurately calculate production rates for executing the works;
  • Strong knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
  • Sound knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Project;
  • Strong knowledge and abilities with Buildsoft Global or similar estimating package.
What We Offer
  • $105,000.00 to $130,000.00 + Superannuation – Computer and office phone will be provided – Car and fuel card are negotiable;
  • Full-time hours Monday - Friday;
