Industrial Plant Technician

Sims Metal is a global leader in metal recycling and we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, servicing and day-to-day repairs on fixed plant equipment. This includes hammermill shredders, conveyor systems, balers and metal sorters.
About the Role- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on fixed plant equipment
- Work to a daily maintenance plan and complete all relevant documentation
- Respond to and assist with equipment breakdowns
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow all safety, environmental and quality protocols
- Trade qualified Fitter & Turner, with experience in conveyors, motors and gearboxes
- Confident in general welding
- Hold a current driver's license
- Hands-on experience in a similar heavy industrial or metal processing environment
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
