About the Role

Thiess is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our team in the Bowen Basin. As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for performing the servicing, repair, and maintenance of mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing and maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform servicing, repair, and maintenance of mobile mining equipment
  • Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services, and component change outs
  • Source technical information from relevant reference manuals and computer-based systems
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Conduct required inspections to maximise equipment utilisation
  • Provide high-quality installations, including mountings, wiring, and testing of equipment
  • Investigate and resolve faults, and carry out preventative maintenance routines on FMS and machine guidance systems
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
  • Refrigerated handling License
  • Post-trade experience working in the mining and heavy earthmoving equipment
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • C Class driver's licence is mandatory for this role
Benefits
  • $62 - $74 hourly rate + allowance + super (depending on site and mine site experience)
