About the Role

The Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Application Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical IT team, you will be responsible for providing support, daily maintenance, and development of Cerner applications, primarily Electronic Medication Management (EMM) and rotating to support other Cerner modules when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for Cerner applications, including EMM and other electronic clinical information systems.
  • Develop and implement new features and functionality for Cerner applications.
  • Train clinical staff in the use of Cerner applications and other electronic clinical information systems.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to identify and resolve technical issues related to Cerner applications.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Cerner applications and other electronic clinical information systems.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Nursing, including AHPRA registration.
  • Extensive experience in the NSW Health System, with detailed knowledge of clinical workflows across medication ordering, administration, and dispensing processes.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Cerner applications and other electronic clinical information systems.
  • Ability to train clinical staff in the use of Cerner applications and other electronic clinical information systems.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, including prioritization and time management.
  • Demonstrated team player with a positive attitude, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours when required, including on-call support.
  • Current unrestricted driver's license and ability to maintain.
