About Us:

Fitout Glass + Aluminium is a renowned installer of glazing systems and glass solutions in the commercial construction industry across South East Queensland. Our extensive services encompass the installation of glass to external facades, shopfronts, internal office partitions, fabrication of aluminium framing and doors, installation of specialist hardware and door systems, frameless glass systems, and balustrading in commercial applications.

About You:

  • You must be a resident of QLD or surrounding areas
  • Able to work safely with minimal supervision
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
  • Possession of a White Card OH&S Construction is mandatory
  • You must have your own reliable transportation and a manual driver's license
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the company
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is advantageous but not necessary
  • You must be punctual, reliable, and hardworking
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from a team leader

Position Summary:

We are seeking skilled Glazing Apprentices - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years welcome. Our goal is to build the next generation of glaziers and invest in their career growth.

The Role:

Once qualified, our glaziers will fit pre-assembled windows, hang doors, and install hardware, crane curtain wall panels, and fit them into the side of buildings, as well as load glass into offices and glaze internal walls. The role involves working on various projects, creating something to be proud of, and providing a positive customer experience while maintaining high professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist team members with general duties on site
  • Operate smaller plant equipment (as tickets are achieved)
  • Labouring tasks
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications, including measuring, marking, and cutting or drilling the glass
  • Installing glass
  • Correct disposal of glass
  • Quality Assurance - inspecting products for defects or weakness
  • Maintain appropriate PPE at all times
  • Ensure the working area is free from unnecessary hazards and follow company safety procedures
  • Continuously learn new techniques and safe practices

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
