Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Automation Engineer at Robert Bosch Group. This is a 2-year, maximum-term, full-time opportunity based at our Head Office in Clayton and will involve occasional local and interstate travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Commissioning: Design, commission, and deploy automation solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Training and Support: Train, guide, and support Bosch automation engineers in the use of automation systems.
  • Software Development: Develop Software Requirement Specifications for automation solutions and develop automation software for PLC/HMI/SCADA/DRIVES and NETWORKS in a timely fashion.
  • Commissioning and Deployment: Commission automation software for PLC/HMI/SCADA/DRIVES and NETWORKS in a timely fashion and deploy automation software for PLC/HMI/SCADA/DRIVES and NETWORKS at the customer site.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Robotics.
  • Commissioning and Support: Commission Allen Bradley Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal and others, and provide customer support services.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (preferably Mechatronics, Electrical, or Computing).
  • Industrial Automation Experience: Sound industrial automation experience.
  • Automation Devices Experience: Experience with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLCs and automation devices is highly desirable.
  • Software Development Experience: Strong background in software development and commissioning for PLC / SCADA / HMI / Drives & Networks is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Time Management: Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to explain complex processes clearly and capability to train and lead others.
