Work as an ADF Backfill Rehabilitation Consultant with Acumen Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced occupational health professional to join our team as an ADF Backfill Rehabilitation Consultant.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work across various Australian Defence Force (ADF) bases, supporting military personnel in their recovery and rehabilitation journey.

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing rehabilitation plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

As an ADF Backfill Rehabilitation Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, applying your clinical expertise to support the achievement of a common goal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional capacity evaluations, worksite, ergonomic, or activities of daily living assessments
  • Develop, implement, and monitor rehabilitation plans to support ADF personnel
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including employees, medical specialists, treatment providers, and allied health professionals

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current unrestricted registration or membership with relevant industry body (AHPRA, ESSA, ASORC/RCAA, or AASW)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Nursing, Osteopathy, or Social Work
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and passion to help people rehabilitate
  • Australian Citizenship
