As a Category Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Category Manager in crafting and executing a shopper-led, channel-specific trade plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Category Manager to meet retail sales and income goals, driving improvements in COGS.
  • Supporting Trading Managers with daily sourcing, pricing, promotions, costing, and supplier management activities.
  • Ensuring all paperwork, including promotions, new lines, deletions, supplier changes, and price changes, is processed timely and accurately through MDG.
  • Providing MDG with validated pricing and new line data.
  • Managing category promotions using MetProms.
  • Analyzing and offering insights into sales and income opportunities, benefiting both Metcash and retailers by understanding suppliers and competitors.

You will be a strong match for this role if you have:

  • Experience or strong understanding of retail and/or FMCG.
  • Proficiency in data and analytics tools like Excel, Power BI, and Circana.
  • Knowledge of Category Management, 4P principles, and basic negotiation skills.
  • Ability to translate category and shopper insights into actionable plans.
  • Strong commercial acumen, customer focus, and a proven track record of delivering priorities under pressure.
