Radiation Oncology Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Victoria team and work across our metro clinics on a Casual Basic. As a key member of our small nursing team, you will deliver best practice Radiation Oncology nursing services and contribute to giving our patients an exceptional treatment experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
- Undertake direct patient care, including education, wound management, and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
- Effectively manage patients seen each day, facilitating effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists.
- Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated, and actioned, monitoring and maintaining procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
- Ensure medication management protocols are followed, using ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.
- Demonstrate reliability, motivation, and flexibility, with a commitment to continuing professional development.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred).
- Background in oncology nursing, although not essential, with training in radiation oncology nursing provided.
- Exemplary interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement, including the NSQHS.
