Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to join our team based in Melbourne or Adelaide.

Job Summary: As a Senior Electrical Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of complex transmission line projects across Australia.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage transmission line engineering projects through the entire project lifecycle, including assessment, route selection, tower spotting, and foundation design.
  • Develop and review detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for transmission line systems up to 500kV.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and team members to assist with their professional development and provide construction support to clients and contractors.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers on major projects to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements using your technical experience and local knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Structural) with 10+ years of relevant experience in transmission line engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of industry-standard software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER.
  • Strong understanding of local utility and national overhead line standards and guidelines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • RPEV/RPEQ/CPEng (or working towards) – highly desirable.
