Job Overview:

A high-performing kitchen is seeking a skilled and accomplished Chef to lead and manage the team, oversee food preparation, and maintain quality and presentation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare signature dishes as per patrons' preferences and dietary requirements
  • Oversee the kitchen team providing directions on food preparation and presentation, and quality of the dishes
  • Develop innovative culinary ideas to inspire and attract patrons to Mexican cuisine
  • Select choice ingredients to optimize flavors, aroma, and nutritive value
  • Regulate food quantity orders, oversee stock levels, and minimize wastage
  • Maintain knowledge of Mexican cooking trends and latest industry concepts to create menu variations for a competitive edge
  • Provide exceptional dining experiences for patrons
  • Receive feedback and suggestions, and resolve complaints if any
  • Direct and oversee best practices and hygiene compliance in the kitchen
  • Educate and mentor junior cooking staff and kitchen staff
  • Manage personnel, rosters, leave planning, and staff performance reviews

Requirements:

  • Diploma plus Certificate IV in Cookery, or at least 3 years of proven industry experience
  • At least 1 year of experience will be highly regarded
  • Sound culinary knowledge, leadership skills, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment
